Community Service

Community service has been a significant part of my high school experience. As a member of the Young Men's Service League (YMSL), I had the privilege of volunteering with many incredible charities. Below are some of the organizations I frequently came back to.

AYSO Epic

AYSO Epic is a soccer league for children and young adults with special needs. During my time there, we provided parents with the chance to sit back and relax while fostering connections among the kids.

Support for San Carlos Small Businesses

When I was 13 years old, I raised $4,430 to support small San Carlos restaurants struggling during the COVID-19 outbreak. All the money I raised was used to buy gift cards from local restaurants, which I then donated to healthcare workers, grocery clerks, and firefighters who continued to serve the community despite the risks. Some of the restaurants we supported were The Toss, The Cask, Spasso, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Shiki Bistro. It was a rewarding experience, and looking back, I'm proud of how we were able to make a difference in a challenging time.

Second Harvest Food Bank

As part of the Young Men's Service League, we partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to prepare food bags and distribute them to families in their cars, who might not know when their next meal will be.

Family Connections

I went with some other YMSL members to a pre-school where we helped clean and renovate the facilities to make life easier for teachers and families in the community.

My New Red Shoes

My New Red Shoes is an incredible organization that has helped over 260,000 families. I spent time with my mom sorting, sizing, and organizing shoes to give to children in need.
